Overcoming Folly: Achieving Spiritual Heights

The point of the treatise is this: every single person has the strength, the ‘wellspring,’ that quells the folly of man. One has the ability to act contrary to his natural impulses.
—The Lubavitcher Rebbe

This new course is based on ‘Kuntras Umaayan’, a comprehensive Chassidic treatise written by Rabbi Shalom DovBer of Lubavitch, the fifth Lubavitcher Rebbe, known as the ‘Maimonides’ of Chassidic philosophy.

The lecture series will explore the various challenges — “follies” — one experiences when faced with the reality of material existence standing in the way of achieving true spiritual heights, and the deeply spiritual manner of overcoming those obstacles.

A rare opportunity for Vancouverites to explore the full scope of the 28 chapters of ‘Kuntras Umaayan’, the course will be a text-based experience with commentaries and insights taught by Rabbi Binyomin Bitton.
