About the ‘Overcoming Folly’ Siyum Celebration:

A year ago, a group of dedicated students embarked on a spiritual journey, exploring the book of Kuntras Umaayan, a comprehensive Chassidic treatise written by Rabbi Shalom DovBer of Lubavitch, the fifth Lubavitcher Rebbe, known as the ‘Maimonides’ of Chassidic philosophy.

Every Monday evening, week after week, we gathered at the Jewish Academy of Chabad of Downtown to explore the full scope of the 28 discourses of Kuntras Umaayan; a text-based experience along with commentaries and insights.

The lecture series explored the various challenges — “follies” — one experiences when faced with the reality of material existence standing in the way of achieving true spiritual heights, and the deeply spiritual manner of overcoming those obstacles.

Today, 60 Mondays later, we have concluded the entire book and we invite you to join us as we celebrate this milestone and explore the significance of Kuntras Umaayan in our times.
