New Kabbalah Series:

Materialism — Challenge & Opportunity

“From the days I began going to cheder, and even before that time, a vision of the ultimate redemption began to form in my mind” —The Lubavitcher Rebbe

This course is based on ‘Mayim Rabbim’, a fundamental Chasidic discourse delivered by the Lubavitcher Rebbe on the 3rd of Cheshvan, 1977.

In this maamar, the Rebbe describes the ideal approach to balancing one’s efforts in Divine service with one’s toil in earning a livelihood. The maamar further explains the deeper reason for why people may be drawn by a powerful desire for material wealth.

The discourse finds resolution in a re-evaluation of the material in the service of the spiritual. Ultimately, the ‘turbulent waters’, a metaphor for the incessant pressures of financial security, will not ‘drown’ the soul, but raise it to even greater heights.

A rare opportunity for Vancouverites to explore a selection of five distinctive Chassidic discourses of the Lubavitcher Rebbe; a text-based experience with commentaries and insights taught by Rabbi Binyomin Bitton.
